IggyTrap™ is a Patent Pending modular design allowing for multiple trap configurations. It is the only trap on the market that allows "non-target" animals to escape while still trapping Iguanas. IggyTrap will capture dozens upon dozens of Iguanas at a time, making it the most economical and effective method for managing the ever-growing Iguana population. IggyTrap was developed and tested by an FAU (Florida Atlantic University) student over the course of a year. The trap went through multiple revisions. Each trap was monitored by several trail camaras both on the outside and inside of the trap, capturing 1000's of hours of videos. The behavior of the iguanas was studied not only as the Iguanas approached the trap but how they behaved in the trap. The next challenge was dealing with "non-targets". By studying the non-targets, the trap entrances were perfected in such a manner that the non-targets could easily escape while preventing the Iguanas from doing the same.
One of the key design features of the IggyTrap is it is installed on a semi-permanent basis. This allows the trap to actively trap iguanas 24/365 before they have a chance to do any damage to your property. When the trap is serviced the holding compartment is simply exchanged out, taking only a few moments to complete so to minimize any disturbance to the customer. With the ever-increasing Iguana population it's now necessary to continually trap them no matter how many you see or catch each day. The goal is to capture them as soon as the arrive, every female captured is 75 less babies that would have been born in the next breading season.

The vast majority of trappers in Florida use these standard animal traps. They are used to catch almost any kind of animal. Raccoons, Opossums, Stray Cats, etc. Once an animal/critter enters the trap, the trap closes and locks. It will not let the animal escape, nor any others enter. Once caught that trap in now out of service until the trapper returns and either releases the "non-target" or removes the target animal. normally a day later. With the exploding Iguana population these traps are impractical. Especially when attempting to continually capture large numbers of Iguanas. day after day.
